Curious about the difference between a free consultation and a paid consultation? You are not alone. We field a number of questions about the benefits of one versus the other, and how to determine what is needed.
You can watch this helpful, brief video by Michael Burger, one of our Partners and a Business Planning attorney or read on to learn more about this frequently asked question.
Free Consultations
A free consultation is perfect if you’re looking to simply understand a little bit more about NC Planning, our team, our approach, and whether we’re a fit for your needs.
Our attorneys also use these free consultations as an opportunity to size up a client or a case to see if it’s something they are able to take on.
Oftentimes these types of free consults are done in the personal injury space, the bankruptcy space, or other consumer-based legal services.
At NC Planning, we offer complimentary “get-to-know-you” 15-minute consultations.

Paid Consultations
If you have a true legal question and you’re in need of legal advice, you’ll want to schedule time for a paid consultation.
Why? Because a paid consultation establishes the all-important attorney-client relationship, which protects both the client’s access to confidentiality as well as the attorney’s ability to provide sound legal advice.
These types of consultations typically take about an hour, and might require a review of documentation ahead of the meeting or the call.
We are pleased to offer 1-hour paid consultations with a fixed fee.
Contact us at [email protected] to book your 1-hour paid consultation.
Of course, if you are still not certain which type of consultation best suits your needs, feel free to reach out to us at 919.900.4720 and we can help guide you.
Our team members are standing by for your call and we look forward to being of service.
