Estate Administration
Losing a loved one can be one of the most difficult times in your life. Not only are you dealing with a flood of emotions, but you may also be asking the questions: What do we do with their house, their car, their bank account, etc.? Do they have a life insurance policy? Who are the beneficiaries? Where are all their important papers? There are so many questions. The first step is to find out if the deceased had a Last Will & Testament and if so, locate the original documents.
If the deceased had assets in their sole name, a formal estate will need to be opened in order to distribute their property. If the deceased left a Will, that individual has already appointed an Executor who will administer their assets and property.
There are so many steps to be taken in the estate administration process, whether the deceased left behind an estate plan or not. If you are going through an estate administration matter, NC Planning can help ease this process for you and your family.
